Position Overview

About the Role
As a School Cleaner, you will contribute directly to maintaining the overall cleanliness, hygiene, and appearance of the school premises.
The successful candidate will work as part of a professional cleaning team and may be assigned to different areas of the school depending on operational requirements. Duties may include cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, stairways, toilets, common areas, meeting rooms, and other designated facilities.
Because the school serves students and staff on a daily basis, cleaners are expected to maintain consistent standards of cleanliness and hygiene while following established workplace procedures.
Attention to detail, punctuality, reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are important qualities for this position.
Key Responsibilities
– Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout assigned school areas.
– Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, corridors, staircases, and common areas.
– Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors according to established procedures.
– Dust and wipe desks, tables, chairs, shelves, doors, windows, and other surfaces.
– Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas and shared facilities.
– Clean and maintain toilets, washrooms, and other sanitary facilities.
– Replenish toilet paper, hand soap, cleaning materials, and other necessary supplies.
– Empty rubbish bins and ensure waste is handled according to workplace procedures.
– Separate and dispose of waste appropriately where required.
– Monitor assigned areas and report maintenance or cleanliness issues to supervisors.
– Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning products and inform supervisors when replenishment is required.
– Assist with preparing classrooms and facilities before daily school activities.
– Support additional cleaning requirements during school events or special activities.
– Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
– Follow proper procedures when using cleaning equipment and cleaning products.
– Comply with school health, safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations.
– Work cooperatively with other members of the cleaning and facilities team.
– Complete assigned duties within the required timeframe.
– Perform other reasonable cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned by supervisors.
