ORNAMENTAL FISH STORE STAFF
AQUARIUM ASSISTANT – HONG KONG
Location: Hong Kong
Position: Ornamental Fish Store Staff / Aquarium Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: HK$15,000–HK$20,000 per month
Working Hours: 8–10 hours per day
Working Schedule: Rotating shifts
Working Days: 6 days per week
Experience: Not required — full training provided
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking responsible, hardworking, and animal-loving individuals to join an ornamental fish and aquarium retail operation in Hong Kong.
The successful candidate will assist with daily aquarium maintenance, ornamental fish care, customer service, product arrangement, stock management, and general store operations.
This position is suitable for candidates who have an interest in tropical fish, aquarium environments, aquatic pets, or the pet retail industry. Previous experience is welcome but not mandatory, as training will be provided to suitable candidates.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ornamental Fish Care
– Feed ornamental fish according to established schedules
– Observe fish behavior and identify signs of illness or stress
– Maintain suitable aquarium conditions
– Assist with the safe handling and transfer of different fish species
– Separate fish when necessary according to store procedures
– Maintain clean, healthy, and attractive aquarium displays
Aquarium Maintenance
– Clean aquariums and display tanks regularly
– Perform scheduled water changes
– Check water clarity and basic water conditions
– Clean filters, pumps, pipes, and other aquarium equipment
– Ensure aquarium systems are operating properly
– Maintain appropriate temperature and water conditions
– Report equipment problems or unusual fish conditions to supervisors
Store Operations
– Arrange fish tanks and product displays
– Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store
– Replenish fish food, aquarium treatments, equipment, and accessories
– Check inventory and report low-stock items
– Assist with receiving and organizing new stock
– Pack aquarium products and prepare customer purchases
– Follow store safety and hygiene procedures
Customer Service
– Welcome and assist customers
– Provide basic information about ornamental fish and aquarium care
– Help customers select suitable fish, food, tanks, and accessories
– Explain basic feeding and maintenance instructions
– Handle customer inquiries professionally
– Support daily sales and general store activities
REQUIREMENTS
– Male or Female applicants are welcome
– Age 18–45
– Physically fit and able to perform daily store duties
– Responsible, honest, punctual, and hardworking
– Interested in ornamental fish, aquariums, or pets
– Willing to learn new skills
– Good communication and customer-service attitude
– Able to work independently and as part of a team
– Willing to work rotating shifts
– Willing to work weekends and public holidays when required
– Previous experience in an aquarium, pet shop, fish farm, or retail environment is an advantage
– No previous experience required
– Training will be provided to qualified candidates
SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE
Monthly Salary: HK$15,000–HK$20,000

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The successful candidate will work in an aquarium and ornamental fish retail environment.
Daily duties may involve standing for extended periods, cleaning aquariums, handling aquarium equipment, moving supplies, and assisting customers. Candidates should therefore be physically fit and comfortable performing practical store duties.
